Dishing it Out x Orleans Soup Kitchen

This is exactly what I’ve been waiting for. Winter is finally here; the snug nights of movies and chocolate are upon us, with the perfect meal to match – soup. The food snob in us may call for denial, but not much can beat the simple hearty goodness of soup during winter.

Orleans in Britomart’s Roukai Lane has brought to the fore something even better than soup. Free soup. I’ve been dreaming about this for months, and it’s better than I could have envisioned. Get amongst, every Monday lunchtime from 12-2pm.

From this week, Orleans will be dishing up free soup specialties throughout the rest of winter. This past Monday’s special saw the chefs prepare a sweet potato and mustard soup, with andouille sausage and puffed dirty rice; a curious concoction which offered more than merely warming you up. The hint of spice delicately supported the sausage and sweet potato components.

 

We can only be assured in the quality of these soups, as Orleans specialize in American-style fusion and straight hearty tucker.
