The Best Tracks of the Week : : 1st May 2016

It’s been yet another tremendous week for 2k16; one that included Beyoncé releasing her monumental LP, Lemonade. If you’ve had doubts about the quality of her music – despite her three albums this decade being largely excellent - this is the LP to win you over. It’s ambitious, accomplished, and arguably the current frontrunner for Album of the Year.

Elsewhere, Drake released his long awaited and highly anticipated VIEWS. Though it’s an overly long body of music, which contains an unfortunate amount of filler, there are still glimpses of the Drake that once made Take Care. D’Angelo performed a stunning rendition of a Prince favourite, and indie favourites, Local Natives, announced their return.

[Note: This could have easily been five Lemonade tracks.]
