Weekly Digest x Dear Jervois

At last the day has come for me to shed light on perhaps one of Ponsonby's most cherished eating spots at present. If you hadn't already guessed, I am talking about the little slice of gastronomical heaven known as 'Dear Jervois'. Aptly named after the road it is located on, Dear Jervois is a mecca for ponsonbarians, remuerians and central city folk alike.

If I could choose a word that best described Dear Jervois, I would say its just straight up groovy. Similar in terms of style to other cafes in the area, yet at the same time providing a completely unique dining experience. Fully equipped with semi-rustic furniture and several partially segregated eating spaces, you are guaranteed to settle in nicely below the shelves which forever seem to be brimming with antique pots and knick-knacks.

After seeing countless Instagram posts of brightly coloured muesli bowls and lavish looking waffles from my more gram savvy peers, I figured I should pay it a visit. Theyre extremely busy, a Sunday lunch service meant a 15-20 minute wait for a table, then another 30 minute wait for food, I did have to remind myself that good things come to those who wait. Luckily they did.

To compliment the muesli (aka gluten free 'Superfood Cruesli'), I ordered myself one of the organic superfood smoothies (banana, medjool dates, organic coconut nectar, raw cacao & maca powder with coconut cream), which, by the way I happily selected from a list of several other health loving concoctions available. Served in an oh-so elite 'Mason smoothie jar', It becomes obvious how Dear Jervois's attention to detail has caused it to become so popular. By popular I mean its fame, on Instagram.

For those interested in doing the lunch menu some justice, there are also a bunch of healthy vegetarian, gluten free and even vegan options here too, ranging from salads to zucchini fritters. Overall, Dear Jervois is an ideal spot for those who follow a specific diet such as being vegetarian, vegan, gluten or dairy free or even for those who just want to choose to eat more wholesomely but at the same time don't want to drag their partner / friend / confused grandma to a place where the menu looks like it would make more sense to a Himalayan wizard.

With a menu that is well crafted, intolerance sensitive and adaptable to your specific dietary requirements, Dear Jervois eliminates that awkwardness of asking if it's possible to use almond milk in your flat white and then being asked patronizingly in return how one would go about milking an almond. From the cabinet abundant with a variety of sweet treats such as gluten free cupcakes and slices as well as your typically stocked goodies from the raw kitchen to the full menu, they’ve really covered all their bases. Plus, for those cow hugging, plant guzzling vego's out there, believeit or not there’s even a whole vegetarian section of the menu. And for that, I wanted to say a big thank you to Dear Jervois for being so accommodating with their food variety, and for making life easier for all of us 'fussy eaters'. Stay Groovy.

Have you ever considered about adding a little bit more than just your articles?
I mean, what you say is fundamental and all. Nevertheless think about if you
added some great visuals or video clips to give your posts more, “pop”!
Your content is excellent but with pics and videos, this

Actually, I think Word would be correct about the fragment. Trying to struggle through my sore lack of English terminology: your core sentence is “My apologies”. “If we’ve missed anyone” is a qualifier – the technical term we use is bijzin, which roughly translates into “side sentence”. Basically, your main sentence offers apologies (and is a fragment, since there’s neither a verb nor a subject), and you’ve got a qualifier in there explaining in which case you’re offering them.I’m not sure whether that’s understandable in English at all.

The thing I like about popping over to read your posts is that all your looks are so different. Take yesterday's compared with today's for instance – both just fabulous (why don't I look that good in a nightie!!), and both so different. You really are so clever. Have a great day x

Regarding the video interviewing – with a previous company, we made the decision to only use video interviewing for interviews with the hiring manager after the candidate had already been through a full phone interview with the Recruiter. That way, we were able to maintain the “blind” status of the first interview, which the company felt offered less opportunity for unintentional discrimination. I’d love to hear from anyone who is using video interviewing for the first interview (no initial phone screen) as to whether they have found this has been a concern or not.

Paul has been our most consistent player all season. He needs to stay, remember the miami miracle? No matter his size this guy has serious talent and continues to improve every season. We need a strong leader on this team as we rebuild and Paul is that guy. Plus he is by far the toughest guy on our roster.Very well written article.

Good grief! If you see a crime being committed and you do nothing about it, aren't you an accessory in some way, certainly an enabler? Having sex on the street is such a common occurrence that people assume it's consensual! Unbelievable! Where are our standards; where are our morals, common decency, compassion, care, concern? The latest electronic device means more to some people than other human beings. Utterly despicable!
