Just recently opened is Jesus Christ Part II – The Basement’s Christmas Show - an irreverent mix of satire and silliness, and very funny indeed. The ancient world is also reimagined in ways Homer would never have expected by circus-skilled theatre makers, Dust Palace; Ithaca may not be entirely coherent in its storytelling, but it is a visual feast of a show, and the skill displayed by the performers is extraordinary.
Hudson & Halls Live has extended its run until the 12th of December, and will tour – hurrah. This is also the final week for Guys and Dolls, the big annual ATC musical, starring Shane Cortese at Q Theatre.
No significant openings this week, but The Watercooler is back at the Basement Theatre on Wednesday, with the theme: ‘Hope for a Generation’. On Friday, there is a 90s Playback Theatre Revival onat the Tiny Theatre at Garnet Station, and there’s also more comedy to be found at the Basement, with SNORT.
If you’re on the lookout for something free, it may not be theatre but it does look fun: The First Thursdays Festival is on K Road on Thursday, between 6 and 9 pm.
